1968년 쾰른에서 결성된 독일 익스페리먼탈 록 밴드 CAN은 Holger Czukay (베이스, 편집), Irmin Schmidt (키보드), Michael Karoli (기타) 및 Jaki Liebezeit (드럼)의 핵심 4중주가 주축으로 활동한 그룹입니다. 미국 태생 Malcolm Mooney (1968-70), 일본 태생 Damo Suzuki (1970-73) 및 여러 훌륭한 보컬리스트이 거쳐가며 역사적인 곡들을 만들기도 하였습니다. 아방가르드와 재즈를 기반으로 한 Can은 Tago Mago (1971), Ege Bamyasi (1972), Future Days (1973)과 같은 영향력있는 앨범에서 사이키델릭 록, 펑크 및 노이즈 요소를 혼합하며 "Spoon"및 "I Want More"과 같은 싱글들이 상업적인 성공을 거두었습니다. 독일의 Krautrock씬의 선구자로서 널리 찬사를 받으며 후대의 Post Punk, Ambient 그리고 Electronic 음악등에 상당한 영향을 미친 역사적인 밴드입니다.

역사상 가장 영향력이 큰 밴드로 기록되고 있는 Can의 7번째 스튜디오 앨범인 "Landed"는 클래식음악과 전자 실험음악의 경계를 초월합니다 . 한층 더 업그레이드 된 사운드와 방대해진 역량을 발휘한 "Vernal Equinox"와 "Hunters and Collectors" 등의 곡들이 담겨 있습니다. Portishead , James Murphy, New Order, Public Image Ltd, Mogawi, Kanye West등에게 영향을 준 앨범이기도 합니다.
